It was my first time in the area. I arrived late afternoon and decided to visit the Grutas da Serra de Santo Antonio. It was a well worth time with a knowledge guide even if it was at the end of the day and we the last visitors. We visited the Restaurant Gralha twice - once with a smaller group and one with a larger group. Both visits took place at the beginning of the week. The quality of the food was quite good and we tried the steak, codfish, the kid goat among others. The restaurant has Lots of space, several rooms and can and is use for large groups.A reminder that the staff needs to turn on the Air Conditioner prior to the place becoming hot and uncomfortable. The second time had a difficult time finishing the meal and dealing with the stuffy air.The restaurant is located on Mountain close to the Grutas (Caverns) and it is very much a destination place since 1973 for others than the locals. Plenty of parking. Since the people in the group knew the owners and servers, I thought the conversation was long and the service of delivering the food a bit slower but truly enjoyable. (FYI - Gralha is the name of the bird that was responsible for the discovery of the Caverns)
