The restaurant next to the bullring offers one key advantage for dinner: the sunset view. Aside from that, the mix of food and low-tone atmosphere was not what we had wanted. Our main dish was supposed to be the famous lapas (limpets) native to the Açores, and we had ordered a large dose in anticipation. However, the limpets, varying in size, were all cooked (clearly) for the same period of time, so that some were tough, and others just chewy, and soused with garlic (which normally I love). The saving grace was to order another round of batatas fritas and make the best of it. The mish-mash menu also serves doner kebab, for which there was a line up to the bar. A strange place, and really not up to par for us, though the service was fine.
