Food is marvellous and the service was too! Loved the ‘rural’ atmosphere and the kindness of the waitress. Highly recommend their espada fish and the homemade chocolate mouse ????????

One of the best in Madeira
Valentine's Day. Although having made the reservation with The Fork and having received the confirmation, upon arrival we were told there was no reservation as they did not accept The Fork reservations for this special occasion and restaurant was fully booked. Asked for the owner and they did find us a table. There was a Special Menu for the day and most of the guests were eating from it. We decided to go for the A La Carte. Food was good, was indeed very good. But service was poor. With most of the guests choosing only between two options there was no excuse for taking so long and for the service to be so confused. As for the wines, white wine options were few and they didn't had the one we choose but there were other options which weren't on the Wine Menu. Overall a nice experience, good ambiance, very good food but poor service. Fair price.
As always a perfect choice for a cold day
Stopped in for dinner after a hike, around 7pm. Found the restaurant to be good for social distancing, but quite cold and also didn’t find the staff overly welcoming (perhaps too busy We found the food disappointing, particularly the espetada which stringy and tough. For the price we have had much better elsewhere across the island.
this place is a good-bye hub to a great meal on the way to pico do areeiro (only 10 minutes drive to the place) beyond the location it offers large portions of eating (sag ́hey’ to a thick club sandwich with fries on the side), quite affordable trips and a scenic amid-the-forest spot with a beautiful ́oldies’.
beautiful place in the mountains- love the smell of the kamin. atmosphere is fantastic and great choice. my food was not great, but will make another shot and try something else. recommend bookings as it was a Sunday afternoon afternoon and it was busy. very good service.
there was a nice, relaxing lunch in abrigo do poiso. on the mountain there was a low cloud so it was wonderful to go into a welcoming atmosphere with beautiful logs fire. our food was excellent and our waiter ricondo silvo was enthusiastic and worth knowing about. the food and the wine, we had his recommendation for a family wine from the douro that was delicious. He explained that they open some rooms so they can stay in one year. it would be the perfect place to enjoy the walks, the eating and the wine. we will return.
