stopped here by falling and loved the vibe, eating and service. had the pulp and edible. not sure how someone can go wrong in this cool little proverb. we found it quite affordable and with enormous pulp, that was so good if not better than trendy restaurants that we were in lissabon. this is not a luxury place, more of a sound and hidden gemstone. efte and his crew have treated us so well. we'll be back.

We had a fish plate (cod) and avocados salad. It was delicious. Ask for bread, it is excellent. Staff friendly.

I ate at a lot of places up and down the block here in Alfama and was generally unimpressed with the touristy food UNTIL I walked into Marcelino Pão and Vinho. It's a cute little place adorned with black and white portraits and press photos of musicians. The Portuguese are very proud of their fresh bread, but none was fresher than here. They take great pride in their incredibly fresh indredients. The seafood was some of the best I ever put in my mouth. Try the Mexilhão à la Guillo (Sauted clams with garlic and tomato) and the Arroz de Marisco if you want real Portuguese home cooking. They have burgers, pizza, and pasta for the less adventurous, as well as breakfast, a fully stocked bar, and a patio. If you are in the area, highly recommended!

Stopped here by chance and loved the vibe, food and service. Had the pulpo and codcakes. Too good. Not sure how anyone can go wrong in this cool little speakeasy. We found it quite affordable and filling with tremendous pulpo which was as good if not better than trendier restaurants we'd been to in Lisbon. This is not a luxury place, more of a find and hidden gem. Efte and his crew treated us soo well.... we will be back... thank you
