We tried multiple places one night (all closed) when we checked into the pestana on the hill. Had we gotten there just a bit earlier, we could have enjoyed the great view of the sunset. There is a big outside patio, but it was very windy. We got a couple bottles of wine (this was the only place in our 10 day trip where the standard ceremony of wine was not followed, and then we had to refill our own glasses), the couvert (great compound butters!), and a really large plate of smoked sausages, and some cheese honey toasts.It is walking distance from the castle, and it kind of feels like Vegas with the decor, lights and music. There are NOT a lot of options in this town but this is a good bet.

Beautiful sunset with fresh salmon and burger for my daugther. Nice selection of gin-tonics and cocktails without alcohol.
If you are hungry or thirsty after visiting the castle you would probably come here for a quick bite. Don't bother! It has a good view but you will have seen all that and much more from the castle. It is clean and modern with no character and the food is the most ordinary I had anywhere in Portugal, with prices 3 times higher. The staff were good and the music aimed at a certain type of young clientele I guess.
This restaurant is only a few minutes down hill from the Pousada and well worth a visit. A stunning modern building with amazing views towards Lisbon and the Tagus valley. We really enjoyed our meal and wish we had discovered it earlier in our stay. It is also excellent value for money for both food and drinks. We will definitely return on our next visit.
We were staying at the Pousada but wanted a more relaxed dinner than what was available at the Pousada. We parked at the Pousada and walked to Culto Cafe. An easy walk. We had the salmon burger which was excellent. Better than anything I have ever had in my home city Seattle. French fries were fresh cut and hot, made the meal all the better. We started with local cheese and olives both excellent and reasonably priced. It was too cold to sit outside, but the view is beautiful.
Stopped there for dinner and we could enjoy the best view of Palmela by night. Friendly service, simple menu but excellent quality. I recommend the petit gâteau, as well as the cheese cake.
Good view to Palmela city. Good music to relax. Fine place to relax and have drink at night. simpaty and good environment.
We had a couple of drinks there and did not eat. The location is quite nice with nice views on all sides
