O Pote

after the nice eating of yesterday we went to the city tonight that portugal had to play his first euro 2016 game. there were other guests, but not too many. we were welcomed by the owner's wife in perfect French. we. ordered by a varied and well translated menu and enjoyed our appetizers, main course and dessert. beside us we had a different 1/2 bottle of wine (rosado and dry white). the food was excellent and we had another great night, although portugal did not win. thanks for the treatment and they deserve a high score. hopefully it helps. obrigado.

I thought the posta could only be eaten in miranda, but I was wrong. I had an excellent posta (good, not mirandesa, but bragancana) in this small family restaurant. if they do not know posta, it is a thick, super delicate steak from this region. it was certainly large, juicy, medium rare as desired and very delicate. the price was also a fraction of what they would pay in their super market to house for meat of much lower quality. service was super friendly.

my wife and would have gone past this restaurant, would not have recommended we are very happy that we do not eat the most cultivated and produced by the owner, also the ham cheese and wee were divine. Once sir found, we were really interested in his eating, more rehearsal tasting at our table arrived. we were fit to burst when we were gone. what a wonderful place. we are happy to recommend the o pote everyone. david

Typical decoration with a collection of traditional pottery linked to the restaurant name (pot), but the ambiance doesn't have much local caracter because it's in a recent building. Very nice owner and wife make us feel at home. The arrival of a couple with a...baby arround 10 pm. made us fear for the quitness we like to have during a dinner (portuguese families don't spend their money hiring nannies) but luckily the child slept all the time... One good quality of this place is the tolerance to client critics. It is not like that everywere in Braganca... Just had a great meal at O Pote! We found this place by chance driving around Braganca (which is really quiet right now The host and hostess were very welcoming and enthusiastic about their local cuisine. Most of the options were marked 0 Km to...denote zero food miles. We started with a glass of port made by the owner (as was the excellent olive oil and acceptable house red wine) and a plate of local meats and cheese (also all made/cured by the owner). This was followed by a delicious wild rabbit (also caught locally) in an excellent and rich sauce just what we needed on a cold January evening! Dessert also good with the only slight disappointment being the decaf coffee (which doesn't seem to be good anywhere around here). Restaurant strongly recommended!

very good food, accompanied by large house wine. good quality meat, good steak and very generous portions. steaks with mushrooms also very delicious. quiet, cozy atmosphere, with a fireplace in the living room and friendliness of the owners.
