A real treat if you're in Bragança — overlooking the old town with a panoramic view of the castle with a truly gourmet fine-dining experience. The only Michelin starred restaurant in the region, G Pousada did not disappoint. From the creative use of ingredients and riffs on traditional food (the savory version of a Bolo de Berlim is a standout to the friendly and solicitous service from staff and the co-owner, definitely should be on your list! And unlike some ultra-chic restaurants of this caliber, they also offer an á la carte menu in addition to a range of prix fixe options — yet another plus!

It was a nice place to stay. Friendly staff, good breakfast, nice swimming pool.
Staff were friendly and helpful we ended up staying an extra nights. The hostel was very clean and the pool is an added bonus. Breakfast was great, bread, cake, jam, ham, cheese, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee, yes all of that for breakfast! The hostel is about minutes walk from the center of town but its a nice walk plus there's a shopping centre near and a great little bar down the bottom of the hill. If you're staying in Portimão stay here, I'll be staying here if I return to Portimão in the future.
Super kind people, chill environment and great location for taking bus to the beaches and around the city. Totally recommend it!
Wow! I am so surprised at some of these reviews, our experience was completely different. Admittedly, staying here would not have been our first choice but, as we booked our festival tickets late, options were limited. We understood that Hi Portimayo is a youth hostel rather than a 5* hotel so our expectations were appropriately managed. We braced ourselves for a pretty bad experience based on some of these reviews but were very pleasantly surprised in the end. We stayed in room 111 which was simple but absolutely functional. We felt safe, had working air conditioning, hot water and fresh towels. The room was clean and great value for money, if you ask me. The communal facilities are tired and simple but, again, let’s remember it’s a youth hostel not a luxury spa. What absolutely made our stay was the super friendly, helpful and caring reception and housekeeping staff.
