I agree with the recommendations of most of the other reviews, but would add that it's a good choice for lunch if you are in a hurry (but still want to eat in a real restaurant). The lunch menu includes some items, for example stews, that are ready and can be served almost immediately (ask the waitress which things are "pronto") - depending on how full the restaurant is, you can get your food within 5 minutes of ordering.Negative points? Too much meat, not enough vegetables in some of the dishes. But the "bottom line" is that we have eaten here several times, and will eat here again and again.The main clientele is local residents, and you need some minimal smattering of Portuguese to understand the menu and the waitress.

This spot is unique! you will have a dedicated Chef, that will provide you with the best quality food in the region. My preferred dishes are the ones with centenary recipe, from the dates of our Kings. The Owner is the Chef. He makes sure at all times that his guest are welcomed, and he provides advice on what to choose. Nowadays, I never look at the menu! I ask the Chef what to have and what to drink. A wide selections of premium Portuguese wines that ranges all prices. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend the traditional plates. Book in advance if possible.

We came here for lunch. We were recommended by our hostess in "Aldeia da Mata Pequena", Miss Tatiana. We were very pleased. Cheerful atmosphere, festive, family and above all: a meal well done and worthy of note and recommendation. Go and delight.

I'm leaving near Mafra and all I can say is that this is the best restaurant around Mafra. I was never disappointed. Sometimes they could be a bit nicer in the service taking the owner, Joao, as example.

Get ready to experience some serious and genuine Portuguese Food. This is where the locals eat. Don't expect a fancy restaurant. Had a chance to try several grilled food. Loved the Wild Hog. The grilled fish was also great (espetadas). Try the local beer (in a dark bottle). Basically you can't do wrong here. Just take a look at what other people are eating and ask whatever grabs your attention. The service was fast, and the waiters were all very nice. Feels like a family restaurant.

We loved our meal, it was very abundant and the service was very welcoming. The chef came out to see if we had liked his dishes and when he saw our son had finished his french fries he offered to make him some more. If you want to enjoy a typical Portuguese meal in a non touristy place this is the place to go.
