Try the fish platter, BBQ'ed outside the restaurant, a mixture of the local fish was 22Euro for 2 people, and try the "green wine" which goes very well with the fish. This place is off the main street which was too pushy for us. This place was family run, filled with locals and very relaxed.

This place was a perfect choice! Very friendly atmosphere,the food amazing! And the wine was top! Went in more than once, and if I’m returning toPorto I will go back! Tasty,healthy and fantastic memories

It looks like a good restaurant for local/portuguese people that know the language. Do no try the tourist menu-it has a lot of sardines

I had dinner in this really typical place with my girlfriend and we ate the real Portuguese cuisine. Location is really particular, meat is very good, portions are big and the staff is really kind

Cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Nice selection of fresh seafood. The owner is the chef and very friendly

I've been visiting Matosinhos, North of Portugal for over years. I always try other restaurants in the area however I always find myself magnetised back to O'Lemes on Rua do Godhino. The owner if you knew him is such a humble proprietor and clearly...it is visible he loves his craft. His son helps out now and is a really attentive guy. What people would not know is and I hope they don't think I'm being too personal that they have faced a lot of personal challenges and since they lost their wife/mother a couple of years ago battling cancer, I have to say they have not only had to cope and battle on, they have continued to keep the high quality of seafood and fish cuisine that they provide with such pride and enthusiasm. It can't be easy putting on a brave face in front of customers every day. Trust me the grilled whole Seabass, chips and salad is totally sublime and being in the North of Portugal couldn't make it taste any better and the local dishes they prepare are delicious. Years ago I arrived at the restaurant at and it was winter and they were closing Fernandez the owner said we are closed but you can eat what we are eating (all the staff was tucking into their meal) and I could not believe the hospitality that this man displayed. So I've been going ever since. Don't just take it from me O'Lemes is a good value more money fish restaurant that also provides good meat dishes! Enjoy your meal and if you don't like it send me your bill and I will reimburse you. Figure of speech you know what I mean
