This place was rated really high, which was why we went for it. Reality was something else though... The service was an experience in itself, with a waiter who did everything in his power to make the evening as good as possible for us. There where several funny instances, which actually made it all worth it. With that said, they didn't have 2-3 of the dishes people wanted and the ones they had were mediocre at best.

Cada curso foi excelente. A comida era variada e criativa. A carta de vinhos é curta mas adequada para complementar a comida. Não poderíamos ter pedido uma refeição melhor; era igual a tudo o que tínhamos em Portugal.

We started with warm bread, local cheese and a sparkling rose. The duck with local sausage was delicious and the cod was light and very good. Ending with a salted caramel cheesecake that was light and tasty. Friendly, quiet and accommodating, we recommend this restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic meal. We had the duck with sausage and rice and pork with white bean pure. Definitely one of the best meals we’ve had in Portugal. The patio has a great ambience surrounded by the 600 year old castle wall. Definitely a must try in Obidos.

Really nice venue. It tries to be a 5 star restaurant but falls well short. They had no more cod fish and no more olives. This is not acceptable to me in Portugal! The lamb shank I had was tough and they replaced it with no questions at all. However I ended up eating alone as my wife had finished her meal already. But the octopus was outstanding! The waiter was very nice and apologetic for the problems in the kitchen. The prices are up there so I expected much more than was delivered. It’s too bad as it could and should be much better.

This restaurant advertises a lunch special for €15. We told the waiter we wanted the lunch special that was advertised, however, when we got our bill it was more than double!! He then sent his colleague who said that we probably don’t speak Portuguese but there’s an exception very small on the sign. Terrible experience and shame on that waiter for his lies!!!

What more can I say than having the pleasure to recommend this to all my closest friends and family! Really nice place for families, couples or even if you’re alone. I went with my two kids and husband, I must confessed that I loved the decoration. Tasty food and finest Portuguese wine not forgetting the professionalism of the waiters, such nice gals! The waiter told us about the restaurant history and we were able to keep a good conversation thanks to her very good English. We are definitely are coming back!
