for over 20 years come the family she owns, knowing their returning customers, but choose to ignore them! good work, eating is good as his they come back. has a bit more caffe feeling. outside could be better...no plants...chaits unpleasant.Where is the bougainvillea? try the family they have many stores, it can't be so bad!

We went after a local highly recommend it to us plus I looked at the reviews. Myself, My wife and three teenagers decided to give it a chance. Ok to look at nothing fancy we were given a table for 5 very little room but OK. The brought out couverts to the table and gave us menus not over friendly. I got steak on a stone , comes out raw and you let it cook to your liking a bit tough but enjoyable experience. The Prawns and garlic were lovely, the grilled salmon was lovely but needs a sauce. The soda bread was stale (couverts not recommended) This place is quite good just needs a bit of finessing and work on the small details to make it great .

We tried this restaurant later. Both my husband and myself love steaks cooked on a stone and ordered fillets. When they came out they were huge but tough to cut and eat. Also the stones cooled v quickly and in the end both of us left some steak as we just couldn’t eat it. The restaurant was packed and the service was good but don’t think I would go back

As one person wrote below this isn’t posh but it is typically Portuguese filled with locals which to me is always a good sign. We were recommended this by 2 separate taxi drivers they weren’t wrong. Steak on a hot stone, prawns in garlic sauce beef stroganoff were so good we booked for the next night and had same again even my 9 yr old had the steak on a stone ! Yes, they’re very busy but still very accommodating. If in Alvor definitely give it a try but best to book about 7.45 before it gets really busy.

Was recommended Buganvilla buy a contact in Alvor, we visited and whilst there were loads of spare tables, these were reserved, but a table was found for us, converts were already in the table, which we declined and we were given the menus, ‘Fresh’ couverts arrived again, which we declined again. Then the wait started, plenty of waiting staff but nobody wanted to deal with the English family who had declined couverts, despite the menu clearly stating that we were in our rights to decline the couverts, after a further 20 minutes of waiting without any contact whatsoever we decided that Buganvilla was not for us and we left, shame as the restaurant came highly recommended, but we felt that we were invisible and unwelcome.
