Restaurante Jardim

After eating lunch here we returned for an evening meal. Both were excellent. Good food; chicken kebabs, fresh fish, omelettes. Friendly service in a relaxed outdoor atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

The fish of the day was really fresh and good value. On this occasion it was boca negra. Cooked very simply and well. Affordable prices. Would come again if in the area.

The Arroz de Marisco is frozen (which kind of seafood rice has surimi/Delicias do mar??). We also ordered Bife à Regional which was good, but not memorable, and vegetable soup which was too watery and tasteless. Overall won't coming back.

Place with fine atmosphere and friendly stuff. Sea food was fresh and tasty, meat steak a bit tough. To sum up a good choice in Povoacao.

Great food , really friendly staff , very good English spoken by some of the staff and Cheap prices . All in all a really lovely place.

I'll echo the many other reviews as to the excellence of this restaurant. My wife and I ate here three times during our visit to Sao Miguel and specifically Povoacao where we stayed at the Hotel do Mar. Compared to the prices we pay in the USA, the food here is very inexpensive and of great taste and quality. The portions are large so for light eaters like ourselves it would have been easy to split a dinner even though we didn't. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We made it a point to choose from the Azoren menu each time and were never disappointed with our choices. You're never rushed to order and then to complete your meal when getting it. They express their desire for you to feel comfortable and enjoy your meal. In fact, each time there we had to ask for our bill. It was a great dining experience that we'll always remember.

The food was great and fresh but the staff were what made out night great... they were so friendly and joking with us. It was a very enjoyable experience.
