We just came back from a wonderful dinner at Tasquina Polonia. We had originally set out for another restaurant in Matosinhos that was recommended by our hotel. But we couldn't find it so we opted for Tasqiuna Polonia based on how it looked and the aroma of the grilling fish from the street.None of our party of 4 spoke Portuguese and only one of the restaurant staff spoke some English. But between all of us we figured out enough of each other's languages to order a wonderful dinner.We started out with the usual appetizers of olives, bread, etc. Then a green salad for the table. Our entree was was beautiful sea bass that was shown to us before grilling. The chef grilled the sea bass over charcoal right out on the sidewalk. Then it was carved and served to us right at the table along with some very tasty potatoes. More than enough sea bass and potatoes for the four of us. For dessert were shared a custard dessert that had a glazed top seared on the same grill as the sea bass was cooked.Our white wine and beer were also very good and at a bargain price.All of our dinner was delicious and very reasonably priced.Highly recommend Tasquinha Polonia.

Good location in Matosinhos near metro stop and 500 bus (for Porto via the coast). Beautifully cooked fish grilled on charcoal brazier in front of the restaurant. We had the grilled fish platter for two and the squid/prawn combination. Excellent and friendly service and great value.
We were a group of 4 people. The entries and the main dishes (we had Monfish Rice and Grilled Sea Bass) we very good. They sold us the sea bass per kilo, which was rather pricy. Getting the individual portion would be more affordable. I don't give 5 starts because we ask for the individual portion of the sea bass, but they changed for the per kilo one (they were out of small sea bass) and didn't mention that the price would increase that much. So we ended up paying 20€ more than we expected. But the food was great, so it wasn't so disappointing.
There are many fish restaurants in the Matosinhos area and it is worth the trip out by taxi from central Porto if you like fish. My wife and I shared a mixed fish platter - four whole fish, cooked over the outside barbecue. The fish was fresh and tasty, cooked to perfection, and the accompanying salad was simple but great. There were some boiled potatoes too. I like this approach to cooking which you can see at many restaurants here. Our bottle of Alvarinho vinho verde was also delicious and disappeared pretty quickly. Excellent, straightforward food, at a good price. Service was friendly and efficient too.

We saw the Grill being set up on the street side in the morning and were curious, there were many similar restaurants to choose from but this was ours and we made a brilliant choice, the seating was nice and stylish, nice table cloths and utensils, We drank Rose wine from Draught and it was incredible, slightly prickly and superb...one glass intention ended at four!! the fish was fresh from market and showed at the table before being grilled to perfection, I am full of compliments for everything here...the bread was A1 Olives, Food, Desserts...mega ...and the prices were amazing, such a value for money with no comparison... Five Stars all Round here.
We had an amazing meal there for lunch. Great service. The fish was exceptionally well prepared and grilled. The portions were large and flavorful. Will go back.
The dinner was amazing! And the service even better! Aldina was an amazing waitress and treated us like family! Amazing!!!
