Pastelaria Al-Karib

Went to Al-Karib three days in a row. Food was fantastic, the bacon lover's pizza was to die for . They also do good breakfast and lunches.The staff are very polite, and speak good english, service was quick, the 2 waitresses Carla and Fatima, kept a happy and smiling face even though they were rushed off their feet . Busy place = Good food .Can't wait to go back .

After visiting the castle we wandered around the town looking for somewhere to get lunch. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants in Silves and all of the ones we looked at had tempting menus but we eventually decided on Al Karib. There were tables inside and outside with plenty of shade available. The menu covered most bases between Portuguese and English breakfasts! The staff were excellent although the poor waitress seemed to be the busiest person in Silves. The bread was lovely and they did perfect fried eggs for the kids. In you are in the area I would recommend a visit.

We pop in for a quick lunch with family of 4.on Sunday afternoon Menu was bit limited for some reason but we pick up some pizzas and drinks - food was tasty but average service.

No-nonsense Portuguese tavern. No frills, just good food and a lovely café/bistro with tables outside, so that you can watch the world go by.

A typical tourist snack bar. We tried to find something being used by locals or with more local food but the only ones located were full. We chose this cafe because we could sit outside and another table of 4 were being served food which looked good. Service was good and prompt. We ordered Burger, egg, chips and side salad (which was served with tepid rice which we left (as did the table of 4 that we had seen being served when we arrived). Our main concern was that the Burger was rare - steaks can be served that way but not burgers! Total cost with half a bottle of wine - E20. Reasonable cost but cook the rice and burgers more.

Went to silves for a short trip and found this cafe on a back street. I had a chicken sandwich and hubby had a toastie and ordered chips to share.....Staff not very friendly and constantly spoke to others while serving. Drinks came with plastic cups... Toastie and sandwich arrived no cutlery then chips arrived 15 mins later with no apology. Good fresh and tasty but would not return due to staff, maybe just a bad day

Visited here twice whilst in Silves on the first occasion there was a party of 6 and the second occasion was a party of 9. The service was excellent, staff were really friendly & the food was really really lovely. Prices were extremely reasonable! Would highly recommend
