Good food at the right price. The owners speak just a little english but they are really sweet people

Almost a Fawlty Towers experience. Ordered a small bottle of water and a large beer, got a small beer and a large water. The waitress was great but didn't speak very good English. You could say why should she, it didn't detract from the quality. Food was good I had scabbard fish and wife had the steak. Both really good. A homely, traditional restaurant with really good food at great prices
We ate here a couple of times and the restaurant was good value for food and drink.The restaurant at the times of our visit was always busy but there are plenty of tables and the food was local, wholesome and plentiful. Staff were always friendly
It was very close to our hotel, so we tried it the first night of our stay. The food is well cooked, inexpensive and healthy, but just very plain. Would like a bit more when on holiday.
A very traditional Madeira restaurant serving good food at reasonable prices. The staff are friendly. We visited on the first night as we arrived late evening and didn't want to travel far from the hotel. We also visited on the last day for early tea. both meals were good
We stayed in the Four Views Oasis but didn't fancy paying over the odds for our evening meals. So exploring locally we couldn't believe our luck when we dined here for the first time. It was just outside the hotel! We had just been up the mountains and were not in a fussy mood BUT our meal was excellent. So much so that we probably ate here 8 nights out of 11. Unavoidable circumstances kept us away the other 3 days, or we would have eaten here every night as the menu was so varied. On our last night we had the pleasure to shake the Chef's hand. 5 star and no mistake... With food this good, and at a great price, we were on a win/win situation.
We decided to try this restaurant based on other reviewers. Early May is a quiet time in Madeira so this restaurant was a little empty on arrival. We were greeted well and shown to out seats.It has a simple menu but with plenty for most tastes. We had a tuna salad and tomato and onion soup as starters. Both were well presented, tastey and good portions. For mains we had the house speciality, chicken cooked in a marinade which was mildly BBQ. You can choose any combination of rice, salad, chips and vegtables with the chicken. We had decaf coffe to finish. Our waiter was excellent thoughout. This restaurant was well worth the visit and at around Eur 30 was very competitive for a meal for two. We would happily return.
The food was ok the chicken being the best but my sons steak was tough and over cooked even though asked and told rare, my daughters stroganoff was unlike any I have encountered, better off at habeous coppus with the steak on a stone or tuna steak salad
