The most amazing meal at this little gem. Food was delicious. Staff and owner was so friendly. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Even better than other restaurants in the area. An added bonus is the online booking facility.
Alex and the lady served the three of us well, giving good humorous advise on food and drink.. The sign says Mare snack bar but the menu variety and food were excellent for dinner. with an outdoor sunset sea view. thrown in. We managed to order all the three of us wish for; excellent fish soup, pepper steak, delicious bbq octopus and grilled tiger prawns.. End with lemon and sugar crepe with cappuccino. ponchos (with a lesson on how to make one ourself at home), and complimentary herbal liqueur. Many thanks Mare for a lovely dinner.
We d just arrived in Madeira so tired but hungry not knowing where to go I looked on trip advisor read the excellent reviews for this restaurant and we decided to give it a go ! We were not disappointed the staff were friendly and very informative the food was delicious we went for roast chicken pork chop and the octopus all lovely! A lovely piece of choc cake/tart to finish! we were a party of 7 fitted us in no problem with a sea view ! What a find for our first night ! We ll be back !
This was one of the best experience on the island ever. Outstanding quality of the meals, portions bigger than you would expect (nevertheless I am more into quality), prices half you would guess. Very professional staff (owners). Considering how choosy we usually are, this significantly exceeded our expectations. Definitely place for the recommendation!

Fantistic find. What a restaurant should be. Very hospitable, with fantastic, reasonably priced food. Fresh fish, good wine. What else is required?
