Restaurante Red Lion

we visited the red lions for the first time in 3 or 4 years after he had heard that he was under new ownership. I had stabbed the kalbs with goat cheese, but that was what I would call a filet steak and was absolutely delicious. it is worth tasting this restaurant when they are close.

beautiful restaurant, but something overpriced. it is located near the casino, so if you want to play a few slots after dinner, is a good place to go. if you want to drink, I recommend you go right on number 2 bar.

we had visited 5 years ago and were eager to go back before we left the island this time, unfortunately, although the meal was pleasant, it was not as we remembered.

Visited a couple of times two years ago. 1 good 1 bad experience. Back tonight which was quiet. Service was good -maybe due to it being quiet but food was superb and very reasonably priced.

Food was excellent, service was slow despite asking for bill had to wait 10 minutes they were busy and forgot I wonder if they would have forgot if we walked out. But the food was very good

Food was not great. The burger came with egg when I asked for plain because my child has an allergy. He (the waiter) returned it back then came with another burger with cheese, I said no plain well done. He returned it came back with another burger, I cut it for my child and blood was coming out. Haha I laughed and said I asked well done, the waiter responded it is well done I said forget it. I asked for the it was €40.24 the guy mistakenly charged 4024.00 lol I did not realise. I didn't even know my card had that amount. He asked me to return because his boss could only reverse, so I did 3 hours later and to top it they didn't even apologise and give the meal for free the still charged returned €3983.76 which I have to wait for it to return to my bank Hahaha

I've been coming to Madeira for over 30 years while the Red Lion used to be really good, they've recently changed the feel style of the restaurant. The Espada Banana followed by a Crepe Suzette was always a firm favourite. Always followed up by a shot of your favourite tipple and a slice of Madeiran honey cake. Most of these have either changed or been dropped. The atmosphere has also changed. I would have happily given it a 4/5 before but now I can only give it a 1/5. Such a shame.
